Self-esteem is like a puzzle that forms primarily in relationships with others. Many people are lost in the environments they live in, forgetting what they want or what is good for them. Use the following methods to increase your self-confidence.
Literature, theater or movies. They mean culture, and they elevate our communication level and capacity to understand and memorize new things.
Sports. The more we know ourselves and feel better in our body, the bigger our self-confidence. Without physical activity, we lose our health, peace, and balance and can suffer hormonal disorders, food disorders, sleep disorders or lack of sexual drive.
Family of origin. This is the first thing that tells us about ourselves before we have an identity. No matter how our family does this, whether good or bad or if it makes us less or too self-confident, later we can learn from their mistakes.
Friends. They can help us develop certain skills such as culture, sports, communication or socializing. On the other hand, they can exhaust us through long, empty talks, complaints or negative life stories.
Nutrition. First, it is important to understand how and what we eat (a “code of good manners” never hurt anyone), and then we have to take care of the quantity and quality of food we eat. It is advisable to discover any food disorders you suffer from (bulimia, anorexia), and let’s not forget that most of the time, the ratio between height and weight is determined by our eating habits.
Health. Periodic medical exams are recommended, same as going to the doctor whenever we have a problem. Having high self-esteem requires optimum health, and having a beautiful smile can depend on good hygiene and regular visits to the dentist.
Career. A vision of the future which includes a goal that we want to achieve can bring us fame, financial power, and social recognition, or it can steal time, energy, and health or destroy our family and social relationships.
Hobbies. They are beneficial when they bring smiles and moments of happiness, but we can become slaves of our own desires when we work excessively so we can afford an expensive car or vacation, luxury car, etc.
Communication. It does not hurt to attend several hours of personal development training to learn the difference between communication and speaking and learn more about body language or tone of voice. It also helps to learn what to say, when to say it, and how to say things in our closest relationships or to those who are not so benevolent.
Clothes. We live in a society where price and presentation matters; therefore, it is important to be mindful of the quality and fashion of our clothes, how we match items for certain social events or dress for outside weather, etc.
Hygiene. The type of fragrance or aftershave used and self-care in general can make us more enjoyable or less likable to the people around us.
Aesthetics. Operations or beauty treatments can be a weapon of seduction and bring us either admiration or ridicule.
